La Grande Botta - Grenade Launcher
Since the first photos and videos of airsoft pyrotechnics I was interested in 3d printing a cheap and biodegradable grenade. The main problems of AP tag grenade are indeed the high cost of the launcher unit (from 60$ to 90$) and of the grenades (about 10$ each).
This projects aims to convert a standard ASG (or matrix in 'murica) 40mm grenade into a launching device, and of course print the grenade itself.
Here you have a picture of the ASG/Matrix grenade
The cost of the grenade is about 20-25$ ad can be bought on evike or pretty much any other site.
The launching tube that you can see in the CAD file will replace the golden part of the ASG grenade and the printed grenade will be simply put inside
The printed grenade has some cut part to also use air resistance in order to spin and gain stabilty. You need to put a disk between the launcher and the grenade to block gas from flowing through it
I'm currently in Slovakia and here I can't put my hands on an ASG grenade so I still have to measure it and correct the CAD files, but if you have the possibility feel free to do so.

Print settings:
Launching tube
Layer height: 0.1mm for obvious reason
Infill: 100%
Material: ABS for vapor smoothing of the inside (might be or be not a good idea?)
Grenade:
Layer height: 0.1 for the rifled part, then 0.3 for the top if your slicer allows you to do so
infill: 10%
Shell: 1mm shell should be fine BUT use 10 bottom layer and make sure that the top layer are A LOT so the weight is concentrated on the top and the grenade gains stability while flying.
Material: PLA to make it bio-compatible.
