Here are my custom piston heads. The air flux is optimized using solidworks flow simulation, the precision of my m4 also increased a lot compared to the standard flat head. There are no holes on the head to prevent the formation of turbolent fluxes, they where substituted by chamfer on the side that do an even better job.
Feel free to edit the heads and try new designs.
To attach the piston head to the piston, pause the print at the end of the nut pocket, insert an M3 nut and continue the print. It's easier with simplfy3d but you can do it with any software.
Custom piston head
Print settings:
Layer: 0.1mm
Infill: 30%
Shell: 1mm at least
Support: Mandatory
Material: Recommended ABS, I also tried PLA and it has been working for months but it got quite deformed after a while. With ABS no problems so far.
